Riverside Park
Riverside Park located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is the place to hike, bike, fish, and disc golf along the Grand River. The tree-lined park is a place for all ages to enjoy with baseball and soccer fields, fishing dock, picnic area with tables and grills, and a paved hiking or biking trail. Special events are held regularly in the park. September 12-13, 2020, the Grand Valley American Indian Lodge Pow Wow is holding a family-friendly event there. Admission and parking are free. Park closes at dark and no alcohol is allowed.
Reviews say this is a fabulous park. People will not be disappointed coming here. The park is well maintained, has plenty of parking, and clean restrooms. It is pet friendly, and people bring their dogs. There is a low crime rate and a safe feel to the park. It is a great place for children to play. This is a great place to relax, and an escape from the city. The longest river in Michigan, Grand River, flows through the park with lots of waterfowl adding to the beautiful scenery. People enjoy feeding the ducks and geese despite the “do not feed” signs.
In the park, people enjoy food truck Friday during the summer and eat on the benches scattered along the paved path near the water. Lots of great food from as many as 17 food trucks attract many people with a variety of food offerings. One of the favorites with many people is the mini pulled pork slider combo from Daddy Pete’s. Other choices are pretzels with cheese, chicken breast dinner, crepes, slushes, ice cream, and sandwiches. Many people make this a regular place to visit on Friday nights to eat and enjoy community events with family and friends.
