Millennium Park

Millennium Park located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is an urban green space with a beach and wetlands which connects four of the major cities in the area together, including Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Grandville, and Walker. This project was begun in 1998 and is twice as large as Central Park in New York City which contains 1,500 acres. It is a clean park with many family activities such as kayaking, paddle boating, walking on paved trails around the lake, splashing in the water, or playing on the sandy beach. This is a safe place with security patrols and people with life-saving training available. Reviewers say that the enjoyment had here is well worth the price and time as a day trip with the family. Prices at the food court are reasonable and patrons are encouraged to bring their own food as well. Shaded pavilions complete with charcoal grills and picnic tables are available for reservations. No smoking and no alcohol are allowed in the park.

The water is warm, and the sand is clean which makes it great for children to play.  There are lots of seagulls and geese to feed, too. The area is beautiful and somewhat remote feel, even though it is only 10-20 minutes south from Grand Rapids in the wooded hills. This hideaway offers the same comforts of a Michigan beach without a long drive to the Great Lakes. The dressing rooms are clean, and the beach is litter-free. The friendly staff is helpful.

Park access is free. Beach and splash pad access is $4 for a day pass or $60 for an annual family pass. Senior citizens have a special package price, too. Reviews say it is a great place to spend the day with the family and has lots of outdoor activities to enjoy the sun and the water. Truly a must-visit!
